About Us

Who we are

We are a family-run double glazing & aluminium company based in the heart of Lincoln, with more than 40 years combined experience.

We were sick of the bad reputation the double glazing industry had – ripping people off, pushy sales and cowboy builder-type firms. We set up DS Windows & Doors to change that, and judging from our 200+ 5-star customer reviews, we are doing just that..

I’ve been fitting windows & doors in and around Lincoln since I was just 18 years old – some 22 years ago now! 

After working for a number of different companies in Lincoln I saw there was an opportunity to provide a different service.

Pushy salesmen and shoddy cowboy builder type firms give home improvement companies a bad name – which is what I set out to change when I set up DS Windows & Doors almost 10 years ago.

My experienced installers take pride in every job – no matter how big or small – and love nothing more than seeing the look on my customer’s face when they’re delighted with their new windows and doors. 

My promise to my customers is this:

  1. I will never pressure you into making a decision – I understand that replacing your windows & doors is a big decision, so I’ll never be that pushy salesman
  2. I’ll give you open & honest advice – I won’t encourage you towards the most expensive option, I’ll advise you based on what I think will suit your property & your budget
  3. My team and I will take care of your home as if it were our own – that means spending time laying down dustsheets, hoovering up after the job is done and spending time cleaning your new windows for you so you get the real ‘wow’ factor

Had a new composite front door installed today by Matt. Matt was very friendly and polite, cleaned up after himself and made sure i was happy before he left. The customer experience from beginning to end has been great. No pushy sales team just years of experience on the job and all questioned answered and explained. You can tell this is a family run business and not a nationwide company that do a job and leave, they are people at the end of the day and interact like people.     An excellent experience from the outset, no hard sell, Darren listened to what we wanted and gave excellent informed advice….we trusted him. Nothing was too much trouble with advice and support through the design process and the price was and is the best value when compared with other local and national companies, the latter being over 100 percent dearer and inferior products. The fitters (Matt and Rob) arrived on time every day and over the three days proved to be efficient, helpful, tidy and problem solvers….they worked really hard and took pride in their work. DS windows charge 50 percent on contract and the remainder once the work was completed and we confirmed it was to an agreed standard ( this is not the approach for many companies). So no hard sell, quality windows that met our needs, expertly fitted, no mess and really competitive pricing…..thankyou

    Further windows fitted in Feb 2025. Good price and excellent work by Matt and Rob who really take pride in their work and go out of their way to ensure everything is done to a high standard…..keep feeding them tea is the trick
